Who is responsible

Stanhope Learning, run by Cosmin Ghinoiu, is the controller of your personal data. Contact: hello@stanhopelearning.com.

What we collect and why

• When you register: your name, email, country, cohort, chosen payment method and your answers to the checkboxes. We use them to run the course you booked and to take payment (legal basis: contract).
• Payment records: what you paid, when and how. We keep these because tax law requires it (legal basis: legal obligation).
• Course activity: attendance, homework, quiz score and project demo, to award the Certificate of Completion (legal basis: contract).
• Recordings: the live sessions are recorded for the participants of your cohort. Your camera is optional (legal basis: contract).
• Newsletter: your email, only if you tick the box, to tell you about future courses (legal basis: consent, which you can withdraw at any time with the unsubscribe link or by emailing us).
• Visit log: when a page is requested, our server notes the page, the time and the advertising campaign tag in the link (for example which ad you clicked). We don't store your IP address, use cookies, read anything from your device or run tracking scripts. We use this to see which ads bring visitors (legal basis: legitimate interest).

Who else sees it

• Cloudflare, which hosts the website and protects our server (based in the US; transfers are covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework).
• Our email provider and the video-call platform used for the sessions, only as needed to run the course.
• PayPal, if you pay with PayPal. PayPal decides itself how it uses your data; see its privacy statement.
• Our accountant and the tax authorities, for payment records.

We don't sell your data and we don't use ad pixels.

How long we keep it

• Registrations that were never paid: 6 months.
• Participant and certificate records: 3 years after the course.
• Payment and accounting records: as long as tax law requires.
• Session recordings: 60 days.
• Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
• Visit log: 12 months, without any personal identifier.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, delete or export your data, object to processing based on legitimate interest, and withdraw consent at any time. Email us and we reply within one month. You can also complain to the data protection authority in your country.

Security

Registrations are stored on our own server, which is not reachable from the internet except through the website's registration form. The admin view is protected by login. Backups are encrypted.
